𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻, 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮
I have been intrigued by mosaic art since my husband and I visited Park Guell in Barcelona, Spain over two decades ago.
After immersing myself in the magical ambiance of Park Guell which is artfully designed in incredible mosaics by the famous architect, Antonio Gaude I arrived home determined to learn this beautiful art form.
For the next few years I embellished everything I could with cut glass and ceramic chips that I cut and collected while enjoying working with mosaic art before moving onto fusing glass and jewelry design which captivated my interest and became my business for nearly ten years.
As my life changed with the loss of my second daughter in 2016, I pivoted in creativity to photography and writing as an avenue to healing through 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 in my desire to reclaim joy and to live happy, inspired and colorfully.
As I have created self care practices to share with you through my experience, it has helped my healing immensely.
Creativity can be art therapy for a healing journey, whether it is creating art or appreciating the gift of art through the passion and expression of others.
Recently, I had the opportunity to visit a local art venue and home that was absolutely amazing.
The innovative creativity of mosaic design was on full display in every inch of the yard and outside of this home. My husband and I met one of the artists of this talented couple, Blake and enjoyed chatting with him for a few minutes in his artistic front yard.
Although I didn’t have the opportunity to tour inside his home on my first visit, I know it is just as incredible as the outside. Next time I will make an appointment so that I may soak in the gorgeous artistry that awaits indoors in the kitchen and bath.
