Your body holds deep wisdom. Honor it. Nourish it. THRIVE.
Soulful Greetings,
On my recent birthday my husband and I made the decision to enjoy the afternoon together by relaxing at the nearby Sunrise Springs Spa Resort in Santa fe, New Mexico. I learned about this spa last summer while we were in the process of relocating from Colorado to New Mexico and I kept it on the back burner until this month when it seemed just right to schedule our visit.
What a delight it was to have our own private outdoor mineral infused soaking tub with a sunning deck, kiva fireplace and a gorgeous spring-fed pond view. My heart was rejoicing at the restorative experience before me.
When we arrived it was a perfect sunny and warm winter day offering a rejuvenating experience of hydrating warm water, bright sunshine and a roaring fire until it was time to wrap ourselves in our comfy robes to walk the short distance to our awaiting massage therapists.
We each chose the Sunrise Custom Massage and walked away feeling blissed out and refreshed. I particularly asked the therapist to assist in helping to release some of the grief I am holding onto as I do each time I receive bodywork after the loss of my daughter 19 months ago. As a trained massage therapist and reiki master I realize the therapeutic effects that can be achieved in the hands of a skilled practitioner.
After our soak and massage we floated on air to the beautiful Blue Heron Restaurant located on the expansive grounds of the spa for a late lunch. It’s ambiance is warm yet pristine with a beautiful view. The menu offered many delicious options but we chose the aromatic butternut squash soup, the crab cake sliders and the grilled salmon over a summer salad. The flavors and freshness surpassed our relaxed expectations and everything was presented in stunning fashion by genuinely friendly staff. We look forward to our next visit to this amazing spa and to exploring more of its wellness offerings.
Birthdays are a wonderful time to reflect on where we are in our life, how we are feeling emotionally and physically and what steps we can take to give ourselves more love, compassion and self-care thereby increasing our joy in life. And JOY is contagious.
Blessings,
Nancy
